This Nonsensical ESPN Graphic Tells You Everything You Need To Know About The LeBron James 'Choker' Debate

The debate about whether or not LeBron James is a “choke artist” has finally outgrown the bounds of reality.

Immediately after Heat-Thunder Game One, ESPN ran this graphic (via Yahoo!), called “Not Finishing How He Started,” to underline LeBron’s fourth quarter struggles.

The problem is that LeBron actually finished exactly how he started mathematically. 7 points on six shots and 2 rebounds is precisely what he did in the first three quarters.

You can write this off as a minor oversight. But the point is this: It doesn’t matter what LeBron does. If the Heat win, no one will say he choked. If the Heat lose, people will say he choked.

The narrative has gone rogue, and it’s fuelled by its own momentum at this point. There’s nothing that can stop it, not even maths.
