Huge New Poll Shows That Our Chances Of Balancing The Budget Are Approximately 0%

Just in time for the budget and deficit fights, a new poll reveals the futility of the whole discussion.

WSJ and NBC found in a survey that nobody wants to touch Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid.

Hysterically, even Tea Partiers oppose cutting Social Security by a 2-1 margin.

There is some support for increasing the retirement age to 69… by the year 2075.

Of course, people still want a balanced budget, and so they’re are a few things they’re willing to do, like raise taxes on the rich and cut foreign aid.

Anyway, as this chart Henry Blodget posted this weekend should remind you, if you’re not willing to touch entitlements, you’re going nowhere.
