England's National Soccer Team Might Be Forced To Wear EU Flag

The European Parliament is backing a bill that would force national sports teams to have the EU’s flag on their kits, The Telegraph reports.

Spanish centre-right MEP Santiago Fisas Ayxela drafted the proposal, named “The European Dimension in Sport”.

It has the backing of EU culture commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, though a UK Conservative MEP called the measure “simply daft”.

It other news, the University of Northhampton has been fined £56,000 ($89,000) by the EU for not displaying the EU flag.
