The Philadelphia Eagles tried to add Randy Moss to their “dream team”, but offered him a contract after he’d already filed retirement papers, according to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald.”After Moss filed his retirement papers, I’m told the Eagles made an offer. So file that under bad timing,” Guregian tweeted this morning.
There’s still a chance Moss could come out of retirement. As we’ve seen with Brett Favre over the years, filing papers doesn’t in any way prevent a player from changing his mind and coming back whenever he pleases.
This is just the latest piece of evidence that Philly is going for broke this season.
