We knew the potential deal sending Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets was going to be very complicated, but we now have some of the details. Here’s what each of the teams involved would be receiving, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:
Brooklyn Nets: Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark
Orlando Magic: Brook Lopez, Damion James, Sheldon Williams, Luke Walton and the Nets’ 2015, ’17 and ’19 first-round picks
Cleveland Cavaliers: Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, Kris Humphries, as well as a first-round pick and $3 million from the Nets
That’s 10 players, four draft picks, and cash for those of you counting at home.
The teams are still discussing the proposal and which players are going where are not set in stone. Humphries’ move to Cleveland may hit a snag, though. Humphries wants a long term deal, but the Cavs only want him for one year.
Whoever ends up in Orlando, though, it just goes to show you how hard it is to get anything close to equal value for a talent like Dwight Howard.
