Disgraced Chicago-area cop Drew Peterson’s trial commenced earlier this week.
Peterson is on trial for allegedly murdering his third Kathleen Savio. He’s also suspected, but not charged, in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy Peterson.
So far, arguments in the case have centered around whether prosecutors can use so-called “statements from the grave,” including claims from family and friends who say Savio told them Peterson threatened her. Peterson’s lawyer has also asked for a mistrial.
Well, thanks to Peterson’s social-media minded attorney Joseph R. Lopez, we know the answer to at least one of those questions.
Earlier today, Lopez tweeted:
And he didn’t stop there. Lopez has apparently been live-tweeting all of today’s courtroom proceedings.
He tweeted that he wished he had a “crystal ball” so his team could be ready for whatever happens.
Savio drowned to death. Authorities initially believed it was an accident but then began to suspect Peterson was involved.
But, Lopez has an answer for that:
Lopez’s trial live-tweeting has earned him some disparaging comments. Twitter user @Tammybaby65 told him to “stop tweeting and focus on the trial haha haha haha LoL #DP #Guilty.”
Lopez is no stranger to the media. Earlier this week, the Chicago Sun-Times published his blog post about what to expect during the Peterson trial.
