Not a great week for Drew Barrymore.
Forbes has ranked the actress at the top of its “Hollywood’s Most Overpaid Actors” list.
The magazine compared the salaries (upfront and backend pay) from the three latest films of Hollywood stars to the films’ total earnings to calculate the return on investment.
For $1 Barrymore is paid, her films earn the movie studio an average $0.40, noting that “Barrymore is not one of the highest-paid players in Hollywood but her recent films have performed particularly badly.”
But she still has CoverGirl!
While Barrymore may not be able to sell out theatres, she’s still selling tubes of mascara. A lot of them.
Barrymore has stayed on as a spokesperson for the brand since 2007, helping launch the LashBlast mascara. The following year, eye-makeup sales were up more than 20% each of the first three quarters, according to Advertising Age, and LashBlast became the leading mascara in the mass market in dollar sales.
