A family video catches the moment that eight-year-old Jillian Thomas is bitten by a dolphin during feeding time at SeaWorld in Orlando.
Jillian Thomas, 8, was feeding fish to dolphins in SeaWorld, Orlando, when one of the mammals grabbed her arm.
A video posted on YouTube by the girl’s parents, shows the moment the dolphin lunges for a fish and nips her hand.
Jillian was left with three small puncture wounds to her hand after the incident on November 21.
In a message accompanying the video, her parents said that they wanted to “share this video so others can make an informed decision about whether or not the risks to yourself or your child are worth the experience.”
The girl’s father, Jamie Thomas, told local media that he wanted to “put some pressure on SeaWorld to make some changes.”
In a statement, SeaWorld said: “Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our guests, employees and animals.
“Educators and animal care staff are always on-site at this area monitoring all interactions and are committed to guest safety.”
