Convincted financial fraudster Hassan Nemazee, who stole more than $292 million from numerous banks, now needs to pay back his victims somehow.
This should help: the Feds plan to sell his amazing 770 Park Avenue duplex, according to the New York Post.
The $25 million apartment takes up the 14th and 15th floor of the Upper East Side co-op, and has 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 3 maids rooms.
It’s on the corner of 73rd street just two avenues away from Central Park. Apparently people have been waiting for this co-op to go on the market for a while.
“Everyone has been waiting for this apartment — things like this rarely come on the market,” a source told the Post.
Though there’s no listing up yet, the 14 room pad will be sold by Sothebys. (As soon as this listing does go up, we will let you know).
Nemazee is currently serving a 12 year jail sentence for scamming Bank of America, Citi, HSBC, as well as longtime friend and business associate out of millions. He was well-known for being a top-tier Democratic who “lived a life of luxury complete with glamorous apartments and homes, sports cars, a yacht and a jet.”
Monthy maintenance bills on the apartment are said to be $17,000.
