Memo to every high profile person who’s planning to have a scandal in the next year — do yourself a favour and get in touch with Demi Moore‘s people.
The actress was just on “The View” for a staggering 30 minutes — and the co-hosts did not bring up Ashton Kutcher‘s alleged cheating once.
(UPDATE: A savvy commenter of ours pointed out that the segments were pre-taped mere hours before the Kutcher story originally broke — the actresses came on September 26 and the story came out September 27 — so the audience wouldn’t have been looking for the ask.
However: keep in mind that this was a print tabloid cover story, not a wayward blog item. Moore’s camp had definitely been contacted and would have already been on defence; it’s also quite likely Walters and Co. had heard this story was coming out, in which case a gag order still would have been hashed out.)
UPDATE #2: An ABC source says the co-hosts had absolutely no knowledge of the story before it broke.
So what you’re watching here is a long interview in which, ostensibly, only Moore (who was wearing her wedding ring, by the way) — knew what was coming down the pike.
The interview afforded her some last non-divorce-oriented press — unaware of the imminent bombshell, the co-hosts asked her about her DNA foundation work with Ashton and how he was enjoying his debut on “Two and a Half Men.”
