6 Stocks Are Making Giant Moves In Today's Flat Market

The stock markets have been trading flat for most of the afternoon on very little news.

Here are today’s winners and losers.


Dell (DELL): Up 3.3 per cent  Dell announced that it plans to start paying dividends. The first quarterly payment will be 8 cents a share starting in the third quarter.

JPMorgan Chase (JPM): Up 3.3 per cent  JPMorgan’s stock is up after Jamie Dimon addressed the Senate Banking Comittee earlier today.

Southwest Airlines (LUV): Up 2.7 per cent  Southwest announcd a three dale fare sale, and also came in at No. 2 in terms of J.D. Power’s customer satisfaction survey, pushing the stock upward.


First Solar (FSLR) Down 4.2 per cent — An analyst stated that First Solar’s 21 per cent gain yesterday was unwarranted, stating that solar energy demand remains low in southern Europe.

Urban Outfitters (URBN) Down 3.6 per cent — Urban Outfitters is getting hit hard by this morning’s poor advance retail sales announcement, which declined 0.2 per cent overall.

Macy’s (M) Down 3.0 per cent — Macy’s is down over 3 per cent after the disappointing retail sales number.
