Time to take David Kenny off the board of potential Yahoo CEOs?He just wrote Kunur Patel of Ad Age to say, “As a matter of policy, I do not comment on matters related to Yahoo as a Yahoo director. However, as a personal matter, I want to clarify that I believe Yahoo is a great company with enormous potential, but I am not — and will not be — a candidate for the CEO position. I look forward to my continued service on the Yahoo Board of Directors.”

Sure sounds like he’s not trying to throw his hat in the ring to be CEO, despite what we had heard previously. (Maybe one reason he isn’t going to be a candidate is that Yahoo is going to sell itself.)

Kenny stepped down from his post as President at Akamai last week, setting off speculation that he would make a run at the CEO spot for Yahoo, where he’s currently a board member.

He doesn’t say where he’s going next, or what his plan is.
