David Jones has unveiled a revamped floor of their Elizabeth Street store in Sydney’s CBD, filled exclusively with designer shoes.
Located on the seventh level of the 12-floor iconic corner building, it showcases covetable (and expensive) shoes from 85 different international brands.
It’s part of a $200 million redevelopment of the heritage-listed building.
We took a look around the new area which opened last week. Here’s what we saw.
As soon as you step off the escalator, you can see the level is decked out with plush decor
It has a very luxurious feel thanks to the gold accents, beige carpet and marble accents
But it also has a few quirky features like these grass-covered rocks
They stock high-end designer brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Christian Louboutin, Roger Vivier, Valentino and Salvatore Ferragamo
Each of these brands has it’s own boutique on level 7
Here’s a look inside the Valentino boutique
And Louis Vuitton
There’s also a range of Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Choo, Gianvito Rossi, Sergio Rossi, Aquazzura, Bally and Balmain shoes
While this level had more staff than any other level I’ve visited, no one approached me to ask if I needed assistance in the 20 minutes I was there
Some store were even just standing and looking around
Level 7 is also home to the newly refurbished bridal salon, which you can pop into for a look even if you don’t have an appointment
Although if you are a bride-to-be, it’s best to make an appointment if you want to try any gowns on.
Still in the works is a champagne and dining bar on the mezzanine which will open later this year or early next year, and will have views over the new shoe floor
The newly opened level was one of the busiest levels in the building, along with the food hall on the lower ground
