Cynthia de la Vega, 19, probably won’t be going to the upcoming Miss World pageant.
That’s because de la Vega, who took the first-runner-up spot in Mexico’s top beauty contest this year, was recently stripped of her title — for gaining six pounds.
(The country’s first-place pageant winner goes to Miss Universe; second-place goes to Miss World.)
De la Vega was spotlighted on “Good Morning America” this morning in a segment that confirmed the pageant has denied weight gain was the reason for the move.
The real reason, according to the organisation? Uh, “lack of commitment.”
They presumably dropped the end of the original sentence: “to the treadmill.”
