Well this is one way to fight the world’s ballooning population.Three Brazilians accused of murdering — and eating — three women between 2008 and 2012 said they did so in order to rein in the world’s population, The Telegraph reported.

“Their modus operandi was to select victims with impure lives and approach them with offers of employment before killing them,” police spokesman Paulo Berenguer said, according to The Telegraph.

Jorge da Silveria and Isabel Pires, a married couple in their early 50s, and Bruna da Silva, 25, told police they were part of a cult called “El Cartel.”
