The Dallas Cowboys went out to dinner Monday night to celebrate last weekend’s season-saving victory over the Houston Texans.A good time was had by all … except for maybe wide receiver Dez Bryant, who found himself stuck with the check: A $54,896 tab.
The rookie-supplied dinner is a time-honored tradition in the NFL, but Bryant perhaps paid a steeper price than most. (Check out the restaurant’s pricey wine list here.)
The 2010 first-round draft pick caused a stir this summer when he refused to carry the shoulder pads of other veteran players during training camp–another rookie tradition he wanted no part of. So teammate Roy Williams made sure the whole team showed up to feast on Bryant’s dime on Monday.
