It was a normal Wednesday evening for patrons of the Waterloo bar in Glasgow, Scotland — until a fully uniformed cop took to the stage to sing some disco.

Sergeant Jon Harris was responding to an alleged assault at the bar, the BBC reports. But once the incident had been handled, the officer stepped up — neon vest and all — to perform a spirited rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s hit “I Will Survive.”

Jon Harris from our city centre community policing team was encouraged to participate in karaoke ongoing in the pub,” Police Scotland’s chief inspector told the BBC. “‘Sgt. Jon’ took to the stage which helped to defuse any simmering tensions in the pub.”
