Consumer Sentiment Well Below Consensus

The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index fell to 56.7 in June on the preliminary report, far short of the consensus estimate of 59.5. Apparently, tax rebate checks can’t solve housing woes, soaring food prices, record-high gas, and job losses.
