In one of the ugliest final games in recent memory, the Connecticut Huskies won the NCAA championship on Monday, beating Butler 53-41.The Bulldogs shot just 18 per cent from the floor — the worst total in any championship game ever — and were still in it until late in the second half.
Connecticut (1-14 from 3 point range) didn’t exactly light it up either, but 16 points from Kemba Walker and 12 from Jeremy Lamb was enough to get the Huskies their 11th postseason win this season.
It’s third championship for UConn and Jim Calhoun since 1999.
