The Texas Football Program Makes As Much Money As The Entire Men's Big 12 Basketball League

Recently, we took at look at the 18 college football programs that made the most money last year, with the University of Texas leading the way.But if we look at the non-football programs, we really start to get a sense of why football is driving all of the recent conference realignment.

The Texas Longhorns football program made almost as much money last year ($93.9M) as the entire Big 12 conference made in men’s basketball ($105.7M). The biggest basketball conference in terms of revenue is the Big East ($154.1M total).
