Yesterday Stephen Colbert had some fun picking on “Poppa Bear” Bill O’Reilly for his coverage of the Wisconsin protests.
While talking about the possibility of violence and busing in out-of-town protestors, O’Reilly showed a clip of a protest getting violent…in California.
There were palm trees in the background. Clearly, not Wisconsin.
O’Reilly’s excuse was that he’d used the footage earlier that night when talking about union ‘thugs’ in California and it had found its way back into the loop.
Says Colbert: “I say, if Wisconsinites wanted O’Reilly to show footage of their protest while he was talking about possible violence in Wisconsin, those peaceful Wisconsin protestors should have been violent.”
Say that three times fast.
