You can’t call yourself a hardcore Nintendo fan without signing up for Club Nintendo.
This premium rewards service lets you register games and systems (using a code included with all first party Nintendo products) to earn gold coins. Accumulating enough virtual cash lets you redeem those coins for a variety of desirable items, including Nintendo themed bags, towels and even games.
It’s free to join, and you could attain Platinum or Gold status, which automatically qualifies you for bonus gifts.
On that note, here are the top 10 Club Nintendo rewards. Spend wisely.
10. Messenger Bag (550 coins)
OK, it’s a man purse, but at least the power star from Super Mario Bros. will inspire you to seize the day before heading off to work.
9. Tote Bag (250 coins)
This cute mushroom tote is the perfect vacation companion. Just shove all your Nintendo games and portable systems in there and head to the beach. Sadly, the tote doesn’t come with all these goodies.
8. Reversible Pouches (250 coins each)
Place your DS and 3DS (or Game Boy, if you prefer to kick it old school) inside these drool worthy pouches. Then flip the script by turning them inside out.
7. Game & Watch Collection: 1 and 2 (800 coins each)
Go retro with these special edition DS compilations featuring classic Game & Watch titles.
Collection 1 includes Oil Panic, Donkey Kong and Green House, while Collection 2 comes with Octopus, Parachute and the all-new Parachute X Octopus.
6. Mario 3-poster series (350 coins)
Every gamer could use some wall art, and this set comes with three posters guaranteed to liven up the room. There’s an equally cool Zelda poster set, but it’s currently out of stock.
5. Hanafuda Cards (800 coins per set)
Nintendo got its start, not by creating video games, but designing Japanese Hanafuda playing cards over 100 years ago. Now’s your chance to own a replica deck.
4. Kirby Patch Set Collection (350 coins each)
If you love Kirby (especially Kirby’s Epic Yarn for the Wii), buying the patch set collection is a no brainer. We suggest snagging both, Saucer & Off-Roader, and Kirby & Prince Fluff.
3. Sensu Japanese Folding Fan Collection (300 coins each)
We loved these folding fans so much we ordered three of the four. Styles include Blooper, Mario, Fireworks (Animal Crossing) and Pink (Animal Crossing).
2. Super Mario Bros. Premium Terrycloth Towel Collection (350 each)
Add some cheer to the bathroom with these well-made towels. You can choose from three Super Mario Bros. themes, red (with Mario), yellow (goombas, fire flowers, gold coins) and blue (chain chomps, ghosts, piranha plants, koopa troopas).
1. Game & Watch: Ball (1200 coins)
Get a blast from the past with this stylish recreation of Nintendo’s first Game & Watch, Ball. The goal? Juggle the balls without dropping them. Definitely a must have for collectors.
