Clive Palmer, an Australian mining magnate and multi-millionaire, said today he will unveil detailed plans for his ambitious “Titanic II” cruise ship in New York on December 4, AFP reports.Palmer said he will reveal the ship’s design at a Gala dinner on December 4 on the USS Intrepid. A variety of high profile names are slated to attend, including John F. Kennedy’s daughter Caroline and New York Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson. The menu for the event will be the same menu served onboard the original Titanic the night it sank, Palmer says.
“Titanic II” was announced earlier this year, and is due to be built in China and sale from England to North America in 2016.
Of course, there is some reason to be sceptical of Palmer’s announcement. The mining magnate announced his intention to build a Jurassic Park-style attraction in August — with real dinosaurs cloned from DNA. He has also accused the CIA of attempting to undermine the US economy.
Palmer owns mining company Mineralogy and is estimated to be worth $795 Million.
