Wealthy Chinese travellers picked France as their number one international travel destination in a new report from HuRun and International Luxury Travel Market Asia.
43% of the Chinese millionaires surveyed picked France, while 39% said their preferred vacation spot was the United States.
The Maldives and Dubai have also become increasingly popular for Chinese millionaires in recent years.
A few other highlights from the study:
- 64% of Chinese luxury travellers own a vacation house, of which 27 per cent are in Sanya and 11 per cent in Hong Kong.
- Chinese luxury travellers usually travel with tour groups. The average Chinese tour group has nine people and travels for eight days.
- Shangri-La tops the list as the most preferred luxury hotel brand, followed by Hilton.
