China Telecom already has 30 million subscribers to its fibre optic service and, with a big dollop of subsidies, it intends to have everyone in China on fibre optic within 3 years, TheNextWeb says.We can’t fathom how it would be imaginable to put over a billion people in fibre optic in three years with very little infrastructure, but it’s certainly an ambitious goal. Whatever the numbers, if there is a strong push for really, really fast broadband in China, that will certainly make what is already the number one internet market into an even stronger and more attractive one.
