Through day 10 of the 2012 Summer Olympics, China is clinging to a one medal advantage over the United States, with 163 of 302 events completed. China has won 62 medals in total, with 31 golds.
The United States has 61 medals, but fewer golds, with 28. Americans have won more bronze medals (19) than any other nation.
In 2008, the United States beat China in total medals won 110-100, but the Chinese won 51 golds — 15 more than the Americans.
Host Great Britain is in third with 37 total medals, including a surprising 16 golds.
Gabby Douglas will have a chance to grab another gold medal today in the uneven bars final at 10:00 a.m. eastern.
