Global smartphone shipments are still dominated by Apple and Samsung. Together they shipped more than 75 million smartphones last quarter, more than all other manufactures combined.
Apple’s shipments were down from previous quarters, but this reflects that some consumers are holding off in anticipation of the new iPhone this Fall. Google-owned Motorola was basically flat last quarter, while Blackberry shipments slumped more than 40 per cent from a year prior. Chinese manufacturers ZTE And Huawei continue to make big gains as they expand internationally.
