10 years ago, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and Headline News each averaged around 200,000 daily viewers, while CNN led the way with 400,000.
Since then, Fox’s viewership has skyrocketed by more than 570%, according to Nielsen ratings, via MediaBistro.
In 2002, Fox broke ahead of CNN and never looked back, finishing 2009 with more than twice the total viewers of any other cable network. That’s one of the reasons it’s making more money than the rest of the TV news business combined.
