Nokia is planning a new line of its Lumia Windows Phones this year, reports The Verge. At least one of the new phones will be a higher-end design of its Lumia phone made out of aluminium instead of the polycarbonate plastic that has previously been the norm.

This new fancy phone is codenamed Catwalk and will be lighter than the other Lumia models we’ve seen to date.

The Verge explains that the move towards aluminium will let Nokia “compete against Apple’s iPhone size and weight, something that it was unable to do with the polycarbonate body used in the Lumia 920.”

One of the most common complaints with the Lumia 920 is that it’s much thicker and heavier than competing smartphones. It seems like Nokia will address the issue with its next generation of smartphones.
