Trying to overturn the 2020 election in seven swing states, Republicans acted as electors and filed certificates to Congress claiming Trump won.
"If you know a vote is fraudulent, right, how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?" Trump asserted to ABC's Jonathan Karl.
In the memo, then-Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis reportedly devised a plan for Pence to send back the electoral votes of six states that Trump baselessly claimed to have won.
"We pay you to do this," he reportedly yelled at staffers in the White House's Map Room. "How can this be happening?"
"Trump is also one of a kind," Pence said in comparing the former president to Reagan. "He too disrupted the status quo. He challenged the establishment."
Trump's speech at the North Carolina GOP Convention included his disbelief that several Democratic-leaning states didn't side with his agenda.
Trump told Fox News in an interview that he had a "very good relationship" with Pence and would "make a decision in the not so distant future."
Trump has repeatedly claimed 75 million people cast ballots for him in the November general election. In reality, just over 74.2 million did.
