Binance co-founder Yi He shared her stance on crypto regulation, meme coins, women in leadership, and remote work in an interview with Insider.
Binance will cease offering futures, options, margin, and leveraged trading in South Africa. Users have until January 6 to close their positions.
The move comes after Singapore's central bank on September 2 said binance.com could be breaching local laws.
"Make no mistake - this is a positive development for the industry and the millions of innovators, consumers, and investors," Binance said.
The Financial Conduct Authority said Binance Markets Limited failed to supply further information about its business.
"We need to be a licensed financial institution everywhere that we operate," Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said. "We've taken a very strong pivot now."
Binance isn't accused of any wrongdoing by the federal agencies, Bloomberg reported. The US is widely trying to root out illicit activity in the crypto market.
