This Colombian Drug Lord Was Arrested At His Own Wedding — Even Though He Was Legally Dead

The footage below is from the lavish Caribbean wedding party of Camilo Torres on Sunday.

As you can probably tell, however, things didn’t go to plan.

Torres, better known as Fritanga (“fry-up”) was arrested for by Colombian authorities during the party, the BBC reports. Fritanga is said to be the lead operative for the drug trafficking organisation “Los Urabeños”, which controls much of Northern Colombia’s drugs trade.

Officials estimate that the week-long ceremony cost around $1.41 million, with TV soap stars and pop singers flown in specially for the event. Colombian celebrities are now denying they knew anything about who their patron was.

In the video Fritanga is shown a photocopy of his ID. He jokes that he hasn’t seen it for years and barely recognises it. This may be true — Fritanga has been legally dead since 2010.

Colombian authorities are planning to investigate how he managed to fake his passing.
