Business Insider Australia has been named business website of the year in the 2017 Publish Awards!

BI secured the win for its leading coverage of finance, business and technology coverage both global and domestic that saw the site hit record levels of traffic over the past year.

The New York-headquartered global title launched in Australia just over four years ago and is now read by a million Australians each month, according to ratings agency Nielsen.

Over the past year BI has led coverage of Amazon’s entry into Australia and its potential impact on the retail market and consumers, with a series of exclusives about the company’s hiring plans and its intention to build a distribution centre in Melbourne.

The site also carried live coverage of the failure of the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ platform on the night of the census last year, as well as delivering continued detailed reportage of the chaos in American politics after the election of Donald Trump and the fallout from Britain’s decision to leave Europe.

We’ve also developed a successful markets and economics podcast, Devils and Details, which brought up its 50th episode this year, and last November published our inaugural list of The Coolest 100 People in Australian Tech, which saw some of Australia’s biggest tech CEOs and investors worth billions in invested capital gather for a spectacular event in Sydney

Thanks to our readers and clients for reading, listening, and watching.
