Business Insider Australia is seeking a news editor to join its team in Sydney.

The news editor is an important function in our team. The mission is to lead the Business Insider team to deliver outstanding editorial content to our audience daily. It requires a detailed grasp of the Business Insider audience, brand and writing style.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, detail-oriented editor with a passion for great stories and who enjoys a fast-paced working environment. There is significant scope for career development and coaching.

  • Strong editing and writing skills
  • Initiative and creativity
  • Impeccable news judgement
  • Newsroom leadership experience
  • Deep understanding of business, technology and news in Australia
  • Superior time management skills
  • Experience building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships

This role will suit an ambitious editor with a few years’ experience, or an experienced business or technology journalist who is ready for the next challenge in their career. This position reports into the head of editorial and will be a hands-on role involving writing, editing and setting the daily agenda.
