Just south of Market Street, where the very air of San Francisco seems thickened by a fog of bits, there’s a redoubt of old-school print.Alexander Book Co. has been in business since 1990. Since the closure of nearby Stacey’s in 2009, it’s one of the few places in downtown San Francisco where you can grab a book off the shelves.
In the past couple years, a bookstore employee told us, Alexander has doubled the shelf space given over to business books. That’s a savvy move, as San Francisco has increasingly become a hub for ambitious tech entrepreneurs. Here are some of the books he told us are hot sellers—both new and classic titles.
