Sad news for Burt Reynolds: the legendary actor is facing a foreclosure action on his Florida home after failing to make mortgage payments for more than a year, according to the Telegraph.Merrill Lynch, which owns the mortgage, filed suit against the actor in county court last week, seeking $1.2 million in back payments.

The estate, in exclusive Hobe Sound, has actually been on the market since 2009; it’s currently listed at $8.995 million (via the Real Estalker).

Reynolds, who appeared in classics like Boogie Nights, Smokey and the Bandit, and Deliverance, famously divorced wife Loni Anderson in 1993, a year before taking out a mortgage on the Hobe Sound home. He has owned the property since 1980.

Interestingly, another piece of property once owned by Burt Reynolds made headlines this week. The actor is the former owner of the sleek Beverly Hills mansion fashion designer Vera Wang just picked up for $10 million.
