If you were to take the most successful brands in the world and create a human body to represent it in a physical form, those brands would look very fit and trim wouldn’t you say?
I mean they have to be physically fit to not only stay in the race, but to win the race as well.
Ok, I know the race is never truly over so perhaps the word “win” is a bit of a misnomer as it implies that someone has indeed won while others have sadly lost.
But make no mistake about it, there is a race kids, a constant battle to stay one step ahead of your competition on the old relevance meter and in today’s digital-online-social media-mobile-tablet-insert name of newest technology here-world we live in, the race is not only crowded with competitors, it is also quite crowded in terms of the equipment and tools each contestant is using.
And another tool or piece of equipment which is now available is called BloomReach and brands such as Williams-Sonoma, Orbitz and Neiman Marcus, among others, are using it to their advantage as they too try to win, er, stay ahead of their competition in the race for relevance.
I recently had a chance to sit down with the co-founders Raj De Datta & Ashutosh Garg to see learn more about BloomReach, why they started BloomReach, what it does and why it’s different than what’s already on the market.
Why did you start BloomReach?
Before we launched BloomReach, we realised that there was a big gap between a consumer’s online shopping experience and how effectively brands were able to market their products and services – what we call the “digital discovery divide.” This is a massive problem, made all the more complicated by the dynamic volume, structure and volatility of the Web. No one was tackling this in a scalable way because of the complexity of the problem. Brands and consumers simply weren’t finding each other, especially in long tail searches, which make up 70% of overall search queries. That’s a huge chunk of missed potential revenue and opportunities for brands to share their products/services and drive conversion. Our goal was to create a big data engine that would apply far beyond natural search to every data-driven online marketing channel.
What does BloomReach do?
BloomReach offers a cloud-based marketing platform that ensures a web businesses’ best content gets found. Rather than trying to get a brand higher up on a search results page, we aim to improve the customer experience by better interpreting consumer intent (through queries or actions) and addressing those intentions with relevant pages and content. We achieve this by processing massive amounts of data and adapting web sites in real-time to present the most relevant content to consumers. BloomReach works brands to digest and interpret consumer intent and only present the most relevant results for a better, more intuitive consumer experience.
What are brands able to accomplish with BloomReach that they wouldn’t be able to accomplish otherwise?
It’s a simple concept (that’s based on an incredibly complex science): improve the customer experience, drive more traffic, and increase online revenue with proven big data applications. BloomReach’s products all drive towards achieving this goal and it’s because, for us, if you present the most relevant pages to an interested consumer, that consumer is likely to be happier and to become a customer. Many companies using BloomReach realise a measurable result within days of implementation. Our focus continues to be on growing that success for our customers by applying our revolutionary “web relevance engine” to new data-driven online marketing challenges as well as expanding into additional verticals and markets.
