The historically significant Mason House on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston is on sale for $17.9 million, after three years of renovations. The prestigious Boston architects Rotch & Tilden originally built the house in 1883 for William Powell Mason, according to Realtor.com. The Queen Anne interiors have all been restored.

The house has 11 bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, and five half bathrooms. The house is 15,000 square feet and has 14 fireplaces inside.

Welcome to 211 Commonwealth Avenue.

The outside of the house is rather modern, but inside it's old-school elegance.

The main sitting room has built-in storage.

The house has crown moldings and an inlaid floor throughout.

This room is particularly sunny.

The music room was added to the back of the house in 1897.

The half rotunda has recessed coffers and imported marble floors and pillars.

The dining room has mahogany paneling and leaded glass windows.

We're not huge fans of the wall paper, but it does make you feel like you're somewhere with historical importance.

We're surprised the couch doesn't have plastic on it.

The kitchen has all marble countertops.

And clearly underwent massive renovations.

Let's see what they did with the upstairs.

Oddly enough this bedroom belongs in the 1960's.

They really love pale blue walls.

The master bedroom has an attached bathroom.

The sitting area near the windows would be an ideal place to read. A history book perhaps?

The home is just a few blocks from the bay.

Besides the view, there is a five-car garage and private garden.
