Bank of America’s Research & Investment Committee lead by Kate Moore has put out its 10 big investment ideas for 2013. The ideas come from across a range of analysts at the firm.We summarize:

1. Corporates over sovereigns: Buy corporate debt, not government debt. Treasury yields are not appealing, as they are at a 220-year low!

2. Buy beaten down multinationals: More here.

3. Buy small-cap tech stocks: They have strong balance sheets, and there will be a lot of tech M&A.

4. Buy European equities: Tail risk continues to fade.

5. Stay long the emerging market consumer: Growth potential is still enormous.

6. Buy high-beta financials: Declining macro uncertainty will help volatile banks, etc.

7. Buy high-yielding munis.

8. Buy precious metals. Ongoing disruptions in South Africa will keep a floor under the area.

9. Buy anything related to US housing. The US housing comeback is a major story.

10. Continue to hedge tail risk. This is still a “risk on/risk off” world, and there are good reasons to keep buying protection.
