This App Works Just Like Dropbox, But You Get Unlimited Free Storage

bitcasa

We’re not sure how or why, but cloud storage startup BitCasa is able to offer people unlimited cloud storage for no charge at all.

BitCasa currently lacks mobile apps, but a look at the company’s jobs page currently shows open positions for iOS and Android developers. It’s just a matter of time.

We took a minute to check it out and we liked what we saw.

Head to bitcasa.com and click on the download link

Accept the download once the window pops up and install it as per usual

When you see this window, everything's gone off without a hitch

Double click on BitCasa in your Applications window to fire it up

You can either log in with Facebook or create a new account from scratch

If you do the latter, fill out the requisite details here

It will open up this webpage in your browser, but you can close it

Click on the house to select a folder on your computer -- the client will make it into the folder that syncs with BitCasa

We're immediately shown a unique download link that we can share via email, Facebook, or Tumblr

You're not limited to the desktop client, by the way. All the same functionality can be used over the web. The only difference is that it isn't as seamless

Cloud computing is a pretty important technology
