You knew that it was inevitable that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick would get questioned about WR Chad Ochocinco’s significant social media presence, especially on Twitter. With Ochocinco’s penchant for tweeting, and athletes getting themselves in trouble in 140 characters or less on a daily basis, it was a valid question.
But Bill Belichick, being the sly dog that he is, deflected the question with a little good old fashioned humour…Belichick style. Which is to say that it was somewhat funny, elicited a chuckle from the group of reporters, and was pretty much what you’d expect from someone as outwardly humorless as Belichick.
Here’s what “The Hoodie” had to say about his social media habits…
“I don’t Twitter, I don’t MyFace, I don’t YearBook, I don’t do any of those things, so I’d probably be the last to know.”
BA-ZING! Thank you, Bill’s here all week…try the veal.
Sure it’s a bit of a lame joke, purposely misnaming something as wildly popular and well known as Facebook and MySpace, but Belichick’s an older guy, and that’s the kind of humour older people go for—weak, inoffensive, and good for a giggle…nothing more, nothing less.
Here’s video of the Pats coach’s funny…
And for the record, over/under on when Ochocinco’s tweeting gets him in trouble with Belichick stands at Week 3. Book it, done.
