BII CHART OF THE DAY: Relevancy Is Key In Mobile Ads

Mobile ads should address a relevant topic if they are going to draw a consumer’s attention according to a study from Prosper Mobile Insights. What doesn’t work is audio, video, or intrusive pop-ups, all of which are fairly prevalent in the industry at the moment. More worrisome for the industry is that “fewer ads overall” was the second most popular response.

Nonetheless, the results reinforce why real-time local ads are the holy grail of mobile advertising. If the mobile ad industry can provide relevant advertisements based on a consumer’s location, that’s a feature regular online advertising can’t match.
