Over the weekend, Google Android chief Andy Rubin tweeted that Google is now activating more than 900,000 devices per day. That’s up from more than 850,000 per day in February.
But it’s a slight slowdown from the rate of growth during the end of last year, when daily activations grew from 700,000 (in December) to 850,000 in less than three months.
But don’t read too much into this apparent slowdown: reported daily activations grow in fits and starts, and the dates on this chart are not exact, but are pegged to public statements by Rubin and on earnings calls.
The takeaway: Android is still growing at an astounding pace.
