There’s political spending and then there’s BigLaw political spending. So far, lawyers and law firms have donated twice as much to President Barack Obama’s campaign than they have to Mitt Romney’s.

But broken down even further, it looks like a number of prominent firm are donating to both campaigns, but just spending more in the Obama camp.

DLA Piper, Obama’s top contributor, doled out $367,027 to the president’s reelection campaign, Above The Law reported last week.

On the other hand, Kirkland & Ellis, Romney’s top supporter, gave Romneyl $393,667.

Both politicians raked in money from Sidley Austin, Skadden, Latham, and a handful of others. But on the whole, they all gave more money to Obama.
