Here at Insider Picks, we’ve written about a lot of amazing watches. From massively crowdfunded startups to stylish luxury watches under $US1,500 – and everything in between – it feels like we’ve talked about them all.
With literally thousands of choices on the market, finding a watch that’s truly good is no easy task – especially if you’re shopping for someone else.
But Jomashop, a site that houses a serious inventory of watches from top brands, is one store that may be able to lead you to the right timepiece – and for a pretty good price. Right now the brand is holding its friends and family sale with up to 75% off.
Since we’re in the midst of graduation season, and Father’s Day will be here before you know it, we asked Jomashop’s marketing director Chaim Posen what the best-selling under-$US500 men’s watches of 2019 (so far) have been. He helped us put together this list, which includes everything from automatic divers to rugged sport watches.
If you’re considering dropping money on a luxury watch, as with any other major purchase, be sure to compare prices and do some research first. While all of these watches are guaranteed to be 100% authentic, they do not come with a manufacturers warranty. If you have any concerns at all, you can view Jomashop’s full warranty policy here.

The Tissot PR 100 Automatic is elegant and luxurious, while still being pretty affordable. Its silver-tone case and bracelet are contrasted by a striking black dial. Silver hands, markers, and a magnified date display at 6 o’clock fill the dial.

If you’re shopping for a guy who’s not into being flashy, the Citizen Quartz is a solid choice. Its mostly silver colour is accented by gold on the crown, hour markers, and hands. A small date display at 6 o’clock adds some utility to the otherwise simple design.
Casio G-Shock GA100
$US59.75 (Originally $US99) [You save $US39.25]
Built to withstand a beating, Casio’s G-Shock line includes some of the most durable watches you can buy. The GA100 makes the list in a stealthy but stylish blacked-out colorway. What makes this watch unique is its analogue and digital display. You’ll find functions like month, day, date, world time, alarm, stopwatch, and countdown timer, all on its face. It’s also water resistant up to 660 feet, which is a nice touch.
$US49.99 (Originally $US495) [You save $US445.01]
As my personal favourite on the list, the Invicta Pro Diver also happens to be the cheapest. The watch features a two-tone silver and gold bracelet, a black and gold uni-directional bezel, and a black dial. Sticking to the diver style, it has circular hour markers and bold hour and minute hands. The classic design and colour combination is strikingly similar to the much more expensive Rolex Submariner.
Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 Automatic
$US359 (Originally $US575) [You save $US216]
The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 proves that luxury doesn’t always have to be shiny and flashy. It has plenty of small but impressive details, like a white textured watch dial, Roman numerals, crocodile-style leather strap. Its automatic movement and 80-hour power reserve means you’ll never have to put batteries in it to tell the time.
Seiko Black Automatic Diver
$US219.99 (Originally $US475) [You save $US255.01]
While there are several other divers on the list, Seiko Black Automatic is the most special. The off-centered crown at 4 o’clock is a unique look that very few watches have. With a water resistance rating up to 660 feet, a secure safety release clasp, and an automatic movement, this watch not only looks the part of a diver – it lives up to it.
