The holidays are just around the corner, and you may be looking for a great restaurant at which to treat yourself and loved ones to celebrate.

There are so many great restaurants all around Australia, but you might want to start with booking site OpenTable’s annual list of the country’s 50 best restaurants.

The list is based on 70,000 reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners from more than 1,500 restaurants nationally.

Sydney dominates the list as Australia’s foodie capital for 2017, securing 26 spots in the top 50. Surprisingly, Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, just edged out Victoria, with 12 restaurants, compared to Melbourne’s 11.

Asian food was the most popular cuisine, making up over one quarter of the featured restaurants. Modern Australian and Italian came next.
