This post originally appeared on Oyster.com.Las Vegas hotels are known for being over-the-top, and that includes everything from the casinos to the restaurants, from the pools to the ensuite bathrooms.

Whether they’re larger than the average New York City apartment, or have gilded accents everywhere, Las Vegas bathrooms do not disappoint. Check out the most luxe bathrooms we’ve seen during our travels in Sin City.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Managed by the swank Morgans hotel group, the Hard Rock is off the Strip, but it knows how to throw a party. The 1,300-square-foot Celebrity Suite has a phenomenal marble bathroom, complete with Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower.

Mandarin Oriental

A new breed of Las Vegas luxury, with 392 elegant rooms and some of Vegas' best service, the Mandarin Oriental is a quiet haven on the glitzy Strip. Every room comes with a stunning stunning light-and-dark-marble bathroom and freestanding tub.

Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino

For the price, the Golden Nugget is a steal, provided you don't mind staying in Vegas' older downtown neighbourhood instead of the newer, livelier Strip. In exchange for giving up the prime location, guests can enjoy clean, well-appointed rooms, excellent service -- and a top-notch pool complete with a shark tank. Rush Tower, opened in November 2009, is home to beautiful suites with big, decadent bathrooms.

Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino

Big, elaborate, and packed with the kind of luxuries you see at the Bellagio and the Wynn, the Palazzo has some of the best and biggest standard rooms on The Strip. Its world-class spa, seven pools, busy casino, and name-brand fine dining all connect to its sister property, the Venetian, via an haute couture mall. Less theme-y than many Vegas hotels, but right at the top of the list in terms of glitz and extravagance. Its marble bathrooms start at about 130 square feet -- larger than the entire room at some New York City hotels. The bathroom in this Sienna Suite, for example, is large enough to host a very intimate cocktail party. Rooms come stocked with plenty of soft towels, and Agraria San Francisco bath products.

Venetian Resort Hotel Casino

Like the Paris and New York-New York hotels, the 5,030-room Venetian is an enormous and extravagant tribute to a place far from the desert, complete with gondola rides and a replica of Saint Mark's Square. Compared to the other theme-driven Vegas properties, the Venetian distinguishes itself with enormous guest rooms, a world-class spa, and more than a dozen premier restaurants. The bathrooms at the Venetian have plenty of mirrors, gold accents, plush vanities, twin sinks, and flat-screen TVs. Deep soaking tubs and separate showers are standard in every room.

Bellagio

This 3,933-room Italian 'villa' is the embodiment of Vegas luxury -- an extravagant five-pool courtyard; formal room service; a superb fitness centre and spa; the best buffet on the Strip; and attractions like the indoor botanical gardens and the famous dancing fountains. Its classy bathrooms (like this one, in the Deluxe Room) feature floral wallpaper, ceramic pottery, and dark wood vanities.

Encore at Wynn Las Vegas

The Encore's giant rooms one-up even the Wynn's (Encore's sister next door) and include such snazzy features as bedside curtain control, beautiful design, and enormous, stately bathrooms.

THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

A hipper, quieter sister to the attached Mandalay Bay, THEhotel attracts a younger crowd that prefers urban chic to ornate luxury. This bathroom in THEsuite (the base-level room at THEhotel) has black marble showers and dark wood cabinets.

Wynn Las Vegas

Remote-controlled drapes in the giant rooms, eight premier restaurants, an 18-hole golf course -- the 2,716-room Wynn is one of the Strip's most extravagant luxury hotels. The huge bathrooms include deep tubs, glass-walled showers, double sinks, and separate toilet rooms. Complimentary products include moisturizer (it is the desert, after all); cotton swabs; a shoe-polishing kit; and soap, shampoo, and conditioner from Desert Bamboo.

Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas

Even in the Trump's standard room, the Studio Suite, you can flip through channels on a 13-inch bathroom flat-screen TV embedded in the bathroom mirror while soaking in this enormous Jacuzzi tub.
