Starting October 1, Best Buy will cut the seven-inch HTC Flyer’s price to $300, Electronista reports. The Flyer originally sold for $500.The price cut will be permanent.

The move comes two days after Amazon unveiled its $199 seven-inch Kindle Fire.

While we’re still not sold on seven-inch tablets, we did enjoy the Flyer for the most part when we reviewed it a few months ago.

Best Buy also cut each BlackBerry PlayBook model by $200. Those now start at $300 too.
