Berlusconi Won't Run For PM Again, Wishes He Could Quit

Berlusconi shrugs

Silvio Berlsuconi, the “man that screwed an entire country“, has announced he will “absolutely not” be running for Prime Minister again, reports the BBC.

Instead, he is throwing his support behind Angelino Alfano, currently head of Berlusconi’s People of Freedom (PdL) party.

The announcements came in the Italian daily La Repubblica.

“If I could, I would give it up now,” Berlusconi told the newspaper. “I am not resigning … but one could want to.”

Berlusconi also used the interview to make negative remarks about Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti, an increasingly isolated figure in the Italian government.
