Berkshire Hathaway earnings are out.According to Bloomberg, the EPS is $1615 vs. estimates of $1779.89.

That’s a miss of $164/share.

Of course, Berkshire trades at $121,950 per share, which explains the large EPS.

As always, the press release is very sparse, and is being unveiled ahead of this weekend’s huge shareholder meeting.

There are more details in the 10-Q, which is here.

One nugget: Berkshire’s controversial dervatives bet ( they sold long-dated European-style put options on the S&P 500, FTSE 100, Eurostoxx 50, Nikkei 225) earned $689 million during the quarter.
